The Black Horse is a delightful family-owned country inn located in the rural hamlet of Ireland in Bedfordshire. Dating from the 17th-century, the picture postcard building displays an abundance of colourful flower baskets throughout the summer and outside seating makes it the ideal spot to relax and enjoy a drink. Internally, the bar, restaurant and accommodation have been beautifully designed and furnished to create a contemporary and stylish venue whilst retaining character features such as beams, wooden flooring, natural stone and inglenook fireplaces. Interesting wall decor and mellow lighting combine to create a cosy and welcoming atmosphere.
Two uniquely styled dining rooms overlook the attractive gardens and courtyard areas which are opened up for al fresco eating during the warmer months. The multi-award winning restaurant has deservedly gained a reputation for its excellent cuisine and first class service. Food is prepared and cooked by a team of talented chefs who are passionate about serving premium quality produce and seasonal ingredients to the discerning diner. Special dietary requirements are also catered for including vegetarian (v) vegan (ve) dairy free (df) and gluten free (gf). From lunch through to evening meals, much of the menu is available gluten free or can be adapted to gluten free when requested and the knowledgeable and friendly staff are happy to answer any questions regarding food preparation and ingredients.
