The Somerset Arms is an attractive coaching inn with an inviting and welcoming atmosphere. The excellent and well appraised restaurant offers a separate gluten free menu with interesting dishes created from fresh local ingredients.
A former coaching inn believed to date back to the 16th century, it is located in the picturesque Wiltshire village of Semington within easy reach of Bath, Bradford-on-Avon and many other West Country attractions.
The inn is named after the Duke of Somerset who was a wealthy landowner in the area. There is outside seating to the front of the inn and in a patio area to the rear. Internally it is tastefully presented and full of character with oak beams, interesting alcoves and a cosy log fire. Situated close to the Kennet and Avon Canal, it is popular with boaters, walkers and cyclists. Accommodation in three luxury en-suite bedrooms is also available. Whether it’s for a visit to friends or family locally or a relaxing weekend away, you will always find the Somerset Arms a friendly and welcoming establishment with great food and atmosphere.
The chef at the Somerset Arms uses local produce whenever possible and the food is freshly cooked to order. Meat, vegetables and dairy produce are farmed locally and the fish is delivered fresh. All the dishes are home made on the premises, including sauces and dips. There is a fantastic choice of gluten free food with a separate menu for lunch and evening meals. The delicious food is reasonably priced and the friendly, knowledgeable staff are happy to answer all questions to provide reassurance about food preparation
