Sophie is a talented and experienced baker who is passionate about catering for dietary needs. Her menus offer an amazing selection of Gluten Free, Vegan and Vegetarian options. Dairy Free is also available and other dietary requests will be accommodated if at all possible. The kitchen team use separate utensils and chopping boards to avoid the risk of cross contamination so Coeliacs especially can enjoy delicious baked sweet and savoury treats worry-free! The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always happy to discuss food preparation and ingredients and advise on menu choice.

A fantastic choice of freshly baked cakes are available daily plus savoury light bites such as paninis with various fillings, sausage rolls (with side salad & crisps), crumpets and teacakes with choice of accompaniments. Gluten Free, Vegan, Vegetarian and other dietary options available here too.

Afternoon teas are a speciality: choose from a simple Cream Tea (two scones with clotted cream & jam plus drink, or the Traditional Afternoon Tea (selection of finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream & jam, selection of homemade cakes and a drink of your choice). A Children’s Afternoon Tea is also available providing a selection of finger sandwiches, choice of cakes and a drink. 24 hours advance ordering is required for Afternoon Teas with specific dietary needs.

The menu offers three categories from which to design your own meal: Snacks & Share (Design your own Sharing Board); From the Fryer (Choose your Main, Covering, one Side plus a Sauce, all served with hand-cut Chips); From the Oven (Choose your Main, Potato, a Side plus Sauce). From the Snacks & Share Menu GF options include Battered sausage bites with curry sauce, Spiced crispy whitebait, lemon & seaweed aioli and Pork scratchings with apple sauce. From the Fryer, GF options offer a choice of succulent fish with a selection of coverings, such as Beer Batter, Jerk spiced and Seaweed & Lemon. The Oven Menu includes GF Ratatouille pot pie with a choice of hand-cut chips, sweet potato fries or buttery mash, Garlic and herb runner beans, creamed spinach and celeriac remoulade, as well as a host of other other delicious selections of GF sides available to accompany your chosen dish. The well-stocked bar offers a great range of spirits, draught beers and a select choice of wines and cask ales to add to your experience at this great venue.

You will be pleasantly surprised when you enter the light and airy bar which boasts a lengthy single steel topped counter, walls of exposed brick, wooden floors and panelling and many quirky features to catch your interest including posters for some of Cambridge’s earliest CAMRA Beer Festivals.

Salisbury Arms are proud to have gained a reputation for their amazing artisan pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven which is second to none. Alternatively choose from their selection of tasty one-pot warmers. To add to your dining experience why not enjoy a beer crafted in their grandfather Charles Wells’ brewery in Bedford, using water from their own natural water well. They have amazing wines too and artisan coffees to round off.

The good news is that the Salisbury Arms also caters for those wishing to eat gluten free! ..offering a dozen or more mouth-watering pizzas which can be made with gluten free dough if requested. This is cooked in a separate oven at the back of the kitchen which is dedicated to cooking gluten free food and not the main oven, using dedicated utensils to turn and cut the pizzas. The Aloha (Pulled Ham hock, mozzarella & caramelised pineapple) and Kayleigh (Halloumi, curly kale & sweet potato) are just two options to choose from.

A number of our warming one-pots are also available gluten free, such as BBQ Ribs (Dry-rubbed BBQ pork ribs, Boston beans & cornbread) and Shroom & Aloo Curry (Mild coconut curry, oyster mushrooms, cauliflower, new potatoes, wild rice and papadums).
