Nestled within the beautiful Derbyshire countryside close to the Peak District National Park, the charming Fox and Goose Inn has much to offer visitors and locals alike. With origins dating from 1392 it is one of the oldest hostelries in the county. The attractive stone building of today houses a stunning modern interior while retaining many traditional character features including stone flags, leaded windows, wooden beams and an open log burner creating a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Outside there is a delightful decking area and garden with children’s play area, the perfect spot to relax with a drink in the warmer months. The contemporary Abbey Suite and Orangery provide stylish rooms for weddings and private functions plus first class facilities for meetings and conferences. Regarded as a prestigious wedding venue, the location of The Fox & Goose allows for the perfect outdoor celebration on Pudding Pie Hill – suitable for an intimate function or a spectacular Marquee or Tipi wedding.

The Fox & Goose has gained a well deserved reputation for its excellent cuisine and first class service. Using only quality produce, sourced locally whenever possible, the seasonal menus offer a fantastic choice from sandwiches to light bites, nibbles and appetising starters, delicious burgers and mains (including steaks, poultry, sea food), as well as pub classics and irresistible desserts. There is a Midweek Menu (Wednesdays & Thursdays), Weekend A La Carte Menu, and the Sunday Lunch is not-to-be-missed! The popular Afternoon Tea is also a treat to enjoy with friends or family. An extensive selection of carefully designed menus are available for weddings and special functions of all kinds and can be adapted for special dietary needs.

The restaurant team are passionate about catering for those with dietary requirements and options are clearly marked on the menus including (gf) gluten free, (gfa) gluten free option available, (v) vegetarian and (ve) vegan. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are more than happy to advise on menu choice and to answer any questions regarding food preparation and ingredients.

Open weekdays from 4pm and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12pm, this charming country pub is located on the main road (B6054) in the rural village of Holmesfield on the edge of the Peak District. The attractive stone building is full of character having leaded windows and abundant colourful hanging baskets and greenery. Fronting the main entrance is a delightful terrace with tables and chairs, the perfect spot to relax with a drink in the warmer months. To the rear is a family-friendly garden with seating. The contemporary interior is welcoming and homely with a bright and airy conservatory dining area. Dogs are welcome both inside and out, however a dog free area is reserved within the conservatory.

The Angel is very popular with visitors and locals alike having gained a reputation for its excellent food and service. The in-house chefs are proud to use locally sourced produce whenever possible ensuring fresh, seasonal, home cooked British classic meals with something for everyone. The team are also passionate about catering for special dietary needs including gluten free (GF), vegetarian (V) and vegan (VE). Coeliacs will be in absolute heaven all of the menus are GF. Choose from a great selection of tempting small plates, light lunches, steaks, and favourite classics including fish and chips and homemade pies, plus delicious chef’s specials, and irresistible desserts including local ice cream and homemade cakes. Their fine wines are supplied by award winning local wine merchant Hattersley Wines.

The Dragon, is a 150 year old pub with character, charm and a warm welcome!

Situated in the heart of Willington village, backing on to the Trent and Mersey canal. It has recently been sympathetically extended, renovated and restored with the introduction of a new 70 seater restaurant, courtyard and dedicated bar area to compliment our fabulous beer garden, on the edge of the canal.

We serve a superb selection of classic and contemporary dishes throughout the day. Bookings are advised for evenings and weekends but there is plenty of room and plenty of parking with a FREE public car park right next door!

There is always plenty to see and do at the dragon including featured dining nights, themed evenings and community events…
