The historic Hatton Arms is located in the pretty village of Gretton on the border of Northamptonshire and Rutland. This charming country inn is a perfect picture postcard with its mellow stone walls, thatched roof and attractive window boxes. Steeped in history, it is believed to be the second oldest pub in Northamptonshire with parts dating back to the 14th-century. Following major refurbishment in 2004, the beautiful interior retains many original character features such as beamed ceilings, stone flags, open stonework, inglenook fireplace and a wealth of fascinating old photographs and memorabilia. There is also an attractive terrace area with wonderful views over the spectacular Welland Valley, a lovely spot to unwind with a drink in the warmer months. Popular with locals and visitors alike, hosts Julie and Neil Smith extend a warm welcome to enjoy the best of modern British cuisine and hospitality in a cosy and relaxed atmosphere. The Hatton restaurant has deservedly gained a reputation for its excellent home cooked food using fresh, locally sourced produce whenever possible. Dietary requirements are also catered for and many dishes across the menus are available Gluten Free and Vegetarian. Other dishes can be adapted for gluten free (gf*) on request. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are more than happy to answer any questions regarding food preparation and ingredients and advise on menu choice. The lunch menu offers a variety of sandwiches and traditional pub favourites. Evening meals include a tempting choice of starters (e.g. Pork & Pistachio Terrine, Smoked Salmon & Prawn Marie Rose), delicious mains (Pan Fried Halloumi, Fillet of Seabass, Sirloin Steak) and a selection of irresistible desserts. The roast Sunday Lunch (available as 1, 2 or 3 courses) is a delight not to be missed! The Blue Ball at Braunston

Located in the idyllic village of Braunston, the Blue Ball is a picture postcard 17th-century thatched country inn. A warm welcome awaits you within this quaint and deceptively spacious pub and restaurant that has much to offer the visitor. Full of character, the interior boasts an abundance of mellow wooden beams and flooring, feature brick walls, traditional furnishings and cosy log fires to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. There is also an attractive contemporary style garden terrace, the ideal spot to relax with a drink in the warmer months. Dogs are welcome in the Drinks Bar and on the terrace only. Family friendly too, there are changing facilities, high chairs, drawing materials, books and toys available.

The award-winning Blue Ball has deservedly gained a reputation for its food and hospitality and the seasonal menus serve fresh, local produce whenever possible. Special diets are also catered for and offer an excellent range of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options which are clearly marked. Many more dishes can also be adapted on request and the friendly and knowledgeable staff are always happy to answer questions regarding food preparation and ingredients.

An impressive range of gluten free dishes are available including Starters, Light Bites, Mains, Desserts and Sunday Lunch. Children’s options are available too. From Starters and Light Bites (such as fresh ciabattas & fillings, soup, salad, paté and dips), through to more substantial meals (including fish, poultry, meat and pasta) and irresistible Desserts, there is something for everyone. To compliment your dining experience at the Blue Ball there is also an excellent selection of wines and beers to be enjoyed.
