Over recent years the 18th-century courtyard and derelict farm stone buildings have been carefully restored and modernised to offer an impressive collection of arts and crafts workshops and galleries, Brown’s Artisan Food Larder, a Coffee House and Restaurant and much more. They have now expanded further and The Running Fox located in the beautiful county of Northumberland now has cafes located at Felton, Longframlington and Powburn. At The Running Fox At Kirkharle, children are well provided for with their own play area and interesting activities to keep them entertained. A delightful stroll around the nearby lake set amid the beautiful Northumbrian countryside is also not to be missed.

The Running Fox at Kirkharle is open all year round and offers a varied menu of delicious homemade dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Start the day with a tasty brunch or choose from a selection of soups, sandwiches, wraps and sharing platters. Ever changing seasonal dishes are freshly prepared each day and a separate children’s menu is also available. Those requiring Gluten Free are also catered for and options include homemade soup, jacket potatoes plus sandwiches and toasties with a choice of fillings. Among a selection of delicious GF cakes are homemade tray bakes and chocolate fudge cookies.  They cater so well for your dietary needs with their very special afternoon teas. Other options are available daily, simply ask the helpful and friendly staff who are more than happy to advise.
