With origins dating back to 1891, the sandstone and red brick Grade II listed premises at 59 Abbeygate Street has recently undergone a major refurbishment to become the impressive Damson & Wilde Restaurant and Bar. The interior is contemporary and stylish with a vibrant Mediterranean colour scheme, luxurious furnishings, eye catching decor and statement lighting. Some original features have also been skilfully retained to create an air of relaxed sophistication. During the warmer months an attractive secluded courtyard with abundant greenery and retractable roof is the perfect spot to relax with a drink or two. A private dining area for up to 20 people is also available for those special occasions.
Open throughout the day for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, the restaurant has deservedly gained an excellent reputation with locals and visitors alike. Food is carefully prepared using fresh, seasonal produce and the menus offer a great variety for adults and children too, there is something for everyone. Choose from tasty appetisers, bread selection, tapas style small plates, sharing dishes, large plates, D & W classic dishes, bread selection, variety of sides, and irresistible desserts. The restaurant team also caters for dietary requirements and offer vegetarian (V), plant based (PB) and gluten ingredients free (GIF) options which are clearly marked on the menus. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are more than happy to answer questions regarding food preparation and ingredients. In addition the drinks list includes a wide selection of wines, ales, ciders, spirits and fantastic cocktails!
