Located at the top of Parsons Street, near St Mary’s Church, a short walk away from the main shopping street with convenient parking, Little Amsterdam is a delightful, family-run, authentic Dutch pancake house. It is predominantly a pancake restaurant but also offers daily specials, imported Dutch treats, tea, coffee and a fully licensed bar.
The venue caters for all dietary requirements and allergies. While they don’t have a specific gluten free menu, many of the dishes can be tailored for GF diners using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Omelettes and pancakes are available gluten free and even a GF biscuit is provided with a tea or coffee.
The café is clean, bright and welcoming, simple but tastefully decorated and the owners and staff are very friendly. There is a cosy area for children and a child’s menu is available too. There is also a small rear courtyard for enjoying a meal or just a drink on a warm summer’s day.
There’s something for everyone throughout the day from morning coffee and lunchtime light bites through to more substantial meals in the evening. In addition to amazing sweet and savoury pancakes there is also a great choice of omelettes, sandwiches, gelato, hot and cold drinks, cakes, muffins, breakfast, main courses, desserts and daily specials. Little Amsterdam is also fully licensed.
