This family-run fish & chip takeaway bar is located on the Marchmont Road between Holy Corner and Newington in the historic capital city of Edinburgh. First opened in 2020, it has quickly gained a reputation with locals and visitors alike for the superb quality of its fish and chips. Not only that, the owners David and Helen and their enthusiastic team are passionate about dietary requirements and offer delicious gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. Protecting the environment is important too – sustainably caught fish are sourced whenever possible and all packaging materials are biodegradable or recyclable.
The impressive menu offers a selection of succulent fish (including haddock, cod, salmon, sea bass, halibut, scampi), meat dishes (including sausages, pies, haggis fritters, burgers), pizzas (sourdough or gluten free bases) with selection of toppings and, of course, deliciously light and golden chips. Vegan options include tofish, plant based burgers, calamari, Thai crabanna cake and meat balls. In addition there is an excellent range of tasty sides and dips. Among sweet treats the irresistible GF and vegan options include Oaty coconut bar with dark chocolate, Raspberry bar, Lemon & Ginger Shortbread and a selection of Mackies ice creams). To compliment the dish of your choice the soft drinks list has a range of Fentimans, Cawstons and Irn Bru. A Children’s Menu is also available offering Battered haddock, Jumbo fish finger and Chicken goujons.
Gluten free items are cooked in dedicated separate fryers thus eliminating the risk of cross-contamination. Foods containing allergens are clearly marked on the menu with helpful, easily recognisable symbols. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always happy to answer questions regarding food preparation and ingredients and to advise on menu choice.
