Kirkwood Guest House is a charming family-run home located in Windermere at the very heart of the stunning Lake District. Ideally situated in a quiet street, yet within a short walk of Bowness and Winderemere. Owners Richard and Paula have lovingly restored their impressive Victorian period home to provide beautifully furnished en-suite bedrooms with a choice of doubles, four-poster beds and two family rooms. Extra special touches include hospitality trays, toiletries, flat screen TV’s and Wi-Fi. Outside a car charging point is available for customers’ convenience.
Breakfast is served in the spacious, tastefully decorated dining-room with views over the pretty garden. Your hosts provide an excellent home-cooked breakfast menu which also caters for dietary needs including gluten/wheat free, vegetarian and vegan. Using locally sourced fresh produce, a delicious range of options are available. Start the day with a selection of fruit, yoghurt, cereals and pastries, tea, coffee and orange juice. Choose from a delicious full English breakfast with all your favourites or other hot options including scrambled/poached eggs, muffins with a choice of topping, pancakes, and Belgian Waffles with Maple syrup.
Paula is a coeliac herself and fully understands the problems associated with dining out. Much of the above menu is provided gluten free and all gluten/wheat free food is prepared in a separate area to avoid the risk of cross contamination. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are more than happy to answer any questions regarding food preparation and ingredients and will accommodate dietary requirements as much as possible.
