Poseidon’s is a family-run business and since opening in April 2019 has already established a reputation for its traditional fish and chips. Although of unassuming outward appearance, the modern and immaculately clean interior boasts a state-of-the-art kitchen where premium quality produce is carefully prepared and freshly cooked to order. Customers can observe this activity on a live screen in the shop while waiting for their orders.
The team at Poseidon’s are passionate about the food they provide and much research has gone into sourcing healthy options. Cod is MSC certified from sustainable stocks while other produce, including potatoes, are from local suppliers whenever possible. Environmental issues are of great importance and Poseidon’s are committed to recycling – including packaging materials and cooking oils. Rapeseed oil is the preferred healthier choice over palm oil.
The menu includes all the popular favourites (cod, scampi, fish goujons, fish cakes, calamari, sausage, chicken, jacket potato), pies and puddings, and a good selection of sides and sauces. All food is gluten free (with the exception of pies and puddings) and cooked in delicious GF and lactose free batter where required. Meal Deals include a Kids Meal and Lite Bite Lunch. Also available are Daily Specials and a selection of Ice Cream & Sorbets. If customers have any concerns regarding food intolerances, the friendly and knowledgeable staff are more than happy to answer any questions regarding food preparation and ingredients and offer advice on menu choice.
