Putty Cakes Coffee Shop is located on West Street, an attractive area in the historic market town of Dorking. Family run by international multi-award winning cake designer Gavin Puttick, with wife Anita and daughter, the business has gained a growing reputation for its amazing cakes and friendly welcome. Anita and her daughter are Coeliacs and therefore well aware of the risk of cross contamination. Much of the menu is available Gluten Free and Dairy free. Vegan options are also available and soya and oat are offered as alternatives to milk.
The beautiful shop and coffee lounge lead through to a further seating area plus charming conservatory and delightful leafy courtyard, the perfect spot to relax in warmer months. Small private parties can also be accommodated. The menu offers delicious, freshly baked light lunches, including soup and sandwiches, plus a fantastic selection of mouth watering cakes, all to be enjoyed with a choice of premium coffee or tea. The friendly staff are always on hand to answer any questions regarding food preparation and ingredients and help with menu choice.
Behind a screen renowned master baker Gavin can be observed working at his craft, creating sensational bespoke cakes for all occasions which can be tailored to specific dietary requirements. He is always amenable to offering tips and advice to customers, and a range of cake decorating equipment and consumables is available to buy in the shop. Globally recognised for his achievements within the industry, Gavin also runs workshops for professional bakers, gives demonstrations and enjoys television appearances.
