A warm welcome awaits you at this delightful family-run country pub and restaurant located in the rural village of Bacton. With origins dating back to the 16th century, the picture postcard building boasts a charming thatched roof, attractive windows and an abundance of colourful flower baskets during the summer. The interior is contemporary and stylish with a feature timbered bar while retaining a traditional feel with wooden beams, large brick oven with open fire, cosy corners and mellow lighting. To the rear is a spacious relaxing beer garden, the perfect spot to dine alfresco or simply enjoy a drink including a superb choice of locally brewed real ales. Dogs are welcome here and in the bar area. A large restaurant/function room is also available for those special occasions.
The restaurant has gained a reputation with locals and visitors alike for the excellence of its food. Meals are freshly prepared to order using only quality produce sourced locally whenever possible and beautifully presented to your table. The impressive menu offers an appetising choice of Starters, great selection of chargrilled Burgers (all served in a brioche bun with salad filling, chunky chips, onion rings & tomato relish), exciting Main Courses (including steaks, pork, lamb, poultry, vegetarian), From the Sea (including haddock, salmon, fish pie and seafood dishes), Stone Baked Pizzas with choice of delicious toppings, a great selection of Sides, and irresistible Desserts. Lunchtime lighter bites include Ciabattas and Wraps. There is also a Children’s Menu with all their favourites. The traditional Sunday Roast offers prime quality, locally sourced meats served with Yorkshire Pudding, signature homemade gravy and accompanying seasonal vegetables – absolutely not to be missed!
Duncan, Rory and the team are passionate about catering for dietary requirements including gluten free and vegetarian. Gluten free items are marked with an asterisk on the menu but much can be adapted on request, simply ask your server at time of ordering. The knowledgeable and friendly staff are happy to answer any questions regarding food preparation and ingredients and advise on menu choice.
