A warm welcome awaits you at The Countryman, a traditional family-friendly country pub located in the picturesque village of Staverton. Built of attractive mellow stone, the carpeted interior retains such character features as beamed ceilings, exposed brickwork and a cosy log burner. Outside there are small seating areas to the front and a larger patio area at the rear, the ideal spot to relax with a drink during the warmer months. Dogs are welcome in the bar area and outside spaces and there is convenient disabled access to the pub.
Husband and wife team, Darren and Linda have owned The Countryman since May 2022 and have seen the pubs popularity go from strength to strength winning a number of local and national awards. Darren is the Head Chef and along with his team create varied lunch, dinner and Vegan menus containing traditional pub classics as well as dishes with an international twist. Food is lovingly prepared using fresh, locally sourced produce whenever possible and reflects seasonal availability. There is also a regularly changing specials board.
Dietary requirements are also well catered for and Gluten Free (GF) Vegan (VG) and Vegetarian (V) options are available across the menu and clearly marked. An asterisk* denotes that dishes may be adapted for Gluten Free on request. (GFO) The friendly and knowledgeable staff are more than happy to answer any questions about preparation and ingredients and advise on menu choice. To accompany your enjoyable dining experience there is an excellent wine list and a range of well kept cask ales.
The Countryman is available for individual or group bookings, whether it be a gathering of friends or that special occasion.
