Located in the village of Ropsley, close to the busy market town of Grantham, The Green Man is a multi-award winning country pub and Tea Rooms right at the heart of the community. With origins dating from 1684, it is built of attractive mellow stone and the traditional interior has every modern comfort whilst retaining many character features. Arranged over two levels, the pub has a cosy, homely atmosphere whilst downstairs is a relaxed light and airy tea room suitable for social gatherings of all kinds. In addition an outside covered patio area is a favourite spot during the warmer months. Accommodation is available in a newly refurbished “Cottage Upstairs”.
Popular with locals and visitors alike, the pub has gained a reputation for its excellent food and service. Family run by Phil and Leanne and their enthusiastic team, the menus offer delicious home cooked meals prepared using fresh, locally sourced produce whenever possible. Choose from appetising Nibbles and Starters, hearty Pub Grub Classics, selection of Dirty Burgers, Gourmet Stone Baked Pizzas, signature Steaks, Mixed Grill, plentiful Sides and mouth watering Desserts. There is a daily Specials Board too for even more choice. Not to be missed are the legendary Afternoon Tea menus, a choice of irresistible treats to be enjoyed in a tranquil garden setting.
The team are passionate about catering for dietary requirements and meals can be offered gluten free (GF) Vegan (VG) and vegetarian (V). Dedicated separate fryer and pizza oven are used solely for gluten free food. Other dietary needs can be accommodated on request and the friendly and knowledgeable staff are only too happy to answer questions regarding food preparation and ingredients and advise on menu options. It is so impressive that 80% of the menu at any one time can be catered for as Gluten Free alternatives too!
In addition there is an impressive drinks list and among awards are CAMRA Pub of the Year numerous times (most recently 2023) and recently reclaimed their title at the East of England Countryside Alliance Awards (2023).
