The Kings Arms is located in the pretty village of Polebrook close to the busy town of Oundle. Originally built in 1695, this delightful country pub is the perfect picture postcard with its mellow limestone walls, thatched roof and colourful flower troughs. The charming interior has been tastefully refurbished to incorporate contemporary furnishings and decor while retaining such character features as open stonework, timber beams and log burning fireplace. Popular with locals and visitors alike, a warm welcome awaits you in the cosy bar area which leads through to a lovely country style dining room. Beyond that is a light and airy conservatory extension with attractive tiled floor and a Mediterranean vibe. During the warmer months there is also space to enjoy al fresco dining on the front terrace or attractive rear patio and garden area which is dog friendly too.
The restaurant has deservedly gained a reputation for its excellent cuisine which offers traditional home cooked food with a modern contemporary twist. using seasonal, locally sourced produce whenever possible. The head chef and his team are passionate about catering for dietary intolerances and offer an extensive range of Gluten Free (gf) Vegan and Vegetarian (v) dishes which are clearly marked on the menus. Gluten Free substitutes and Dairy Free (dfs) (gfs) are also available. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are more than happy to answer any questions regarding food preparation and ingredients. They also have a superb allergen key! Open daily, the menus offer lunchtime snacks and light bites delicious Vegan and Vegetarian Baguettes, evening meals, a specials board and a fantastic Sunday lunch. Choose from an exciting selection of nibbles, starters, main courses (including steaks, burgers, poultry, fish, vegetarian), various sides and irresistible GF desserts, ice creams & sorbets, and tasty cheeseboard (gfs). A Children’s Menu with gf options is also available. To accompany your memorable dining experience at The Kings Arms there is an excellent drinks list including draught beers, fine wines and spirits.
