A warm and friendly welcome awaits at this beautiful traditional country pub and restaurant located in the charming village of Aller, Somerset right at the heart of the community. Over the years it has established a reputation for excellent food and drink and is much loved by locals and visitors alike. Eight individual en suite rooms offer single, double and family accommodation. Comfortable and immaculately clean, facilities include welcome tray, tea and coffee making, mini-fridge, TV and free high-speed fibre WIFI. Every care is taken to ensure a relaxing and memorable stay. ‘The Old Pound Inn’ welcomes families and is dog-friendly too.
The pub interior is full of character features including attractive stone walls, wooden beams and an open Dutch fire at the centre of the bar. There is a lounge area and cosy snug in which to relax with your favourite drink, as well as a delightful 44-seater restaurant. In addition a small beer garden to the rear is the perfect spot during the warmer months.
Open daily, the restaurant menus offer light bites, freshly made sandwiches, delicious pub classics, from the grill, burgers with choice of toppings, great selection of sides, and scrumptious desserts. The Old Pound Inn Sunday roast is extremely popular as is Wednesday’s Steak Night which includes a free drink. Owner Lea and her team are committed to catering for dietary needs including Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Vegan. Gluten Free dishes (gf) are available across the menus and many Gluten Free options (GFO) are available. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always happy to answer questions regarding food preparation and ingredients. To accompany your meal there is an excellent drinks menu including wines, spirits, ciders and draught beers.
