It lies amid stunning countryside and is close to the many places of interest the area has to offer. Step into the traditional 17th-century whitewashed building to find a beautiful contemporary and stylish interior that blends perfectly with character beamed ceilings and stone walls to create a wonderfully warm and relaxed feel throughout. Accommodation offers 13 superb individually themed ensuite bedrooms providing all the comfort and facilities the discerning guest would expect. In addition there is the two bedroomed luxurious Heifer Hideaway Cottage close by.
The Wensleydale Heifer has been family owned by father and son Lewis and David Moss for over 20 years and, together with their amazing team, it has established an enviable reputation for the excellence of its food, accommodation, service and hospitality.
With a choice of flexible dining spaces (The Dining Room, The Fish Bar, The Snug, The Bar) your every preference from small and intimate to larger groups is welcomed. Some areas are dog friendly too. All dining areas welcome families and high chairs are provided along with entertainment gifts!
The kitchen team are dedicated to offering the finest fresh and seasonal sourced produce to create delicious home cooked dishes which are beautifully presented to your table. There is an excellent drinks list to perfectly complement the meal of your choice.
The extensive lunch and evening menus offer appetising starters, delicious mains (including an impressive choice of fish and seafood dishes and succulent steaks), great choice of sides and an irresistible selection of desserts. Dietary needs are well catered for and 95% of the menus can be adapted for Gluten Free. Superb Vegetarian and Vegan dishes are available too. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always happy to answer questions regarding food preparation and ingredients and to advise on menu choice. A Children’s Menu is also provided and the renowned Sunday roast is simply not to be missed!
